Otunba Iyiola Omisore has all but officially dropped his gubernatorial ambition. According to information available to societynow, this development is the fall out of intense negotiation with the former senator by the People’s Democratic Party stakeholders in Osun state – and beyond. Omisore was party’s flag bearer in the last gubernatorial election in the state. But failed to stop the re-election bid of outgoing governor Rauf Aregbesola after allegedly alienating “those who can make things happened” in his party by taking away their relevance and forced them to defect into the warm embrace of the opposition All Progressive Congress. His loss turned the gain of Aregbesola who secured re-election. Omisore a top-level People’s Democratic Party chieftain had indicated interest to re-contest.
