Details available to societynow.ng revealed the stormy talks about a planned impeachment of Lagos Governor Akinwunmi Ambode may just be a “face-saving ruse after all”. According to claims by the Ambode’s men the plot to impeach the embattled governor has roots in the orchestration of political leader Bola Ahmed Tinubu. The move is alleged to be the fallout of the protracted political fight that saw the governor lose his re-election ticket as the gubernatorial candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress in Lagos state for the 2019 general election. The planned ouster of Ambode as Lagos Governor is said to be connected to increasing talks he is planning a defection to another political party – after he was denied re-election opportunity in APC. Policemen in Lagos State this morning invaded and sealed up the residence of  Hon. Funmilayo Tejuoso on the orders of Governor Ambode. The policemen, who atacked  the longest-serving female honourable in Lagos  State did not have any court order but insisted that they would eject the members of the family of Honourable Funmilayo Tejuoso who are resident in the building. The said policemen claimed to have been authorised by the Governor and the Attorney General of Lagos State. The invasion and eviction were carried  out despite the pendency of a court case over the ownership of the property between the Lagos State Government and Honourable Funmilayo Tejuoso at the Lagos State High Court. Honourable Funmilayo Tejuoso is however outside the country on official assignment and there is no order of court evicting her from the premises or authorising the eviction efforts.
